As you can well imagine, our Headstart group does not run by itself, for example, who makes all those fab cakes?, how do we know when the next meeting is? and what shall we spend Headstart's money on? Like all successful organisations, it has to be co-ordinated, and for this to happen, we look to our five totally fab health professionals, who shoulder the responsibility on our behalf, and guide us. The team spend a lot of their own time and effort to ensure that Headstart works, and works well.

As the group has grown in membership since it's formation, this requires more and more legwork in keeping the records of members up to date. (see below) To help the Headstart five, there are a few other individuals, who give up their free time, and who attend the meetings to co-ordinate the next event. In theory any Headstart member can come along and become a Committee member, all you have to do is to turn up to the meetings (the dates are on the Homepage) on a Tuesday evening in Maidstone Oncology Clinic at 6pm.

The reason Maidstone was chosen for the meetings was simple. You will be aware that Tuesday afternoon is the main outpatients appointments day, when Brooke Quinteros, Pauline Mortimer, Jayne Goddard, Debbie Hannant, and Jamie Murrell , are nearly always there. There is representation from patients, and we would like many more to become involved. At the last OC meeting we had new but familiar faces, Sheila & Phil, and Pam (all pictured and smiley), and they would to help contribute in whatever way necessary.

Member records. It is quite a daunting task to keep the records of all of our members completely accurate.
